This blog entery is in response to the news that "Christian leaders" have thrown their support behind John McCain.
Note: I used to think this way too.
This is bad news for Christians every where! Another example of poor, weak, compromising, pathetic "Christian leadership" that cow tows to the gop instead of standing and demanding more from politicians. The same "leadership" that refuses to support better, more godly candidates because they have the wrong party affiliation, ie: Michael Paroutka in 2004, because as they
walk by sight and not by faith, they say he can not win so we must compromise our values to win. Compromise does not honor God, it mocks Him. Its not about winning, its about standing on Christian values 100% and having the guts to
not vote at all if there is no godly candidate available. These leaders mock themselves by claiming to be Christ's and yet supporting those who are for what God is against. Let me remind you that McCain has done a lot of flip floping and his support of embryonic stem cell research makes him pro-abortion (see
www.ontheissues.org)and that is the most egregious, abomination to God, the slaughter of the innocent, that one can support. These "leaders" do not act like Christians, they act like pragmatists justifying their fearful position by saying things like "
We're not suggesting that McCain supports 100% of the values we support. We are, however, saying that he is an individual of integrity and that he would support our values more than obama". This is supporting "the lesser of 2 evils" and is un-acceptable to God and has given us the bloody, 35 year road to the "incremental" end of infanticide(abortion) for you who like the sanitized, pc terminology. God will not reward compromise and fear and incrementalism. We must stand firm on what is right and support only those that will fully support us as Christians. This is God's world and it should be run as he designed and it is our duty to see that our little corner of it be run according to His plan.
These "leaders" don't even have the guts to use strong language in their 10 common goals when addressing the issue of in utero child killing. There is no mention of what the "faith community" should/will do to STOP the murder of these precious little ones, just caring for the poverty stricken and distressed and stating the obvious, the sanctity of life from conception.
The 10 common values aren't worth the paper they are written on because these leaders are willing to compromise their stand at any time to support candidates that will "not be in 100% support or their values". If some one does not support what God supports, what true Christians are suppose to support, DON"T support them.
Also, please don't mock our founding fathers by pledging what they pledged. They were ready, willing and able to fight a revolution to stand for the right things, the things God stands for, and they did and some lost it all, including their lives and there was no compromise in them. Give me liberty or give me death! No settling for the lesser of 2 evils there.
