I saw a bumper sticker yesterday (7/7/08) which read "people of faith" for Kerry. That started me thinking, What does "people of faith" mean? Faith in what? Faith in the one and only God? Faith in a certain religion? Faith in a certain doctrine? I used to think a "person of faith" was one that believed in the one and only triune God.
The reason for my confusion is that I see on bumper stickers, billboards and tv and hear on radio or in conversation that "people of faith" are for such things or support people that are for such things as the murder of unborn children, embryonic stem cell research and homo-sexual marriage and the homo-sexual life style.
Now, if God makes it clear in His word how we are to believe and act as His followers through Christ His Son, how can "people of faith" believe or act opposite of what God says and be "people of faith"? To profess to be a "person of faith" and yet act Not, like a "person of faith" according to God's definition is an abomination to God. People who support what God does not support should stop fooling themselves and stop dragging God's name through the mud by implying that by their claim to "faith" that He supports things He obviously does Not. God loves us and is merciful and Just and hates all sin. These "people of faith" who support the sins of murder and homo-sexuality and justify it need to stop referring to themselves as "people of faith"!
These poor people are lost souls who have been fooled by their fellow man or by the devil himself and have yet to be called into a true and authentic conversion by God, through His Holy Spirit, to faith in Christ His Son as their Lord and Savior. If this ever happens to these folks then and only then will they really be "people of faith".
